Internet Marketing Myths That You Should Understand

5 Internet Marketing Myths That Shouldn't Hold You Back

5 Internet Marketing Myths That Shouldn't Hold You Back
By Steve Remson

1. Anyone can easily make money online

Some marketers try to give the impression that all you need to do is set up a website and just sit back and wait for the money to roll in your bank account. This simply isn't true. If it was everybody would be doing it.

It is true that it is far easier and a lot less costly than setting up most offline businesses, but you will still have to put some time, effort and a little money into creating your online business.

2. You can get rich very quickly

You will hear stories about how some of the top internet marketers can make tens of thousands of dollars in a few days. Although this is true in some cases, you need to remember that they are making this kind of money only after their internet business has been running for a few years. It didn't happen overnight.

Use their stories as a source of motivation to inspire you to keep going in the early days.

3. It costs nothing to set up a business online.

Setting up an online business can be very cheap but it's not free. You will have to pay for an internet connection and if you set up a website you will need to buy a domain name and pay for hosting. None of these things cost a lot of money but they are necessary to get started. Depending on your budget you may well also spend on advertising and sign up for some training on internet marketing.

4. Setting up an internet marketing business is too difficult

It is something you can set up from home, without the normal headaches of setting up a conventional business such as overhead costs, staffing etc. You can even find people on the internet that will help you to set up your website if you do not want to do it yourself. Just go to elance.com

5. You need to have lots of internet marketing knowledge to get started

Not at all. If you are willing to put the effort in, it is possible to build a very successful internet business no matter how little knowledge you have about the subject to begin with. People like Alan Forrest Smith, Tom Hua, Andrew Reynolds, Simon Coulson, and Mark Anastasia all came from different backgrounds but all became hugely successful internet marketers.

To sum things up, if you want to make a lot of money from internet marketing you will need to put the time and effort in to begin with and you will need to spend some money. This is what all of the people I have just mentioned did and they have all become millionaires. Just ask any of them if it was worth it and they will all most definitely say YES.
