Make Money Writing Reviews
By Evelyn Y Vargas
Are you a particularly opinionated person? Do you believe that people around you find it entertaining to listen to your personal views and insights? If you answered yes to both questions, it's high time you take advantage of that gift and start earning from it.
Here's how:
- Determine what particular topic you are most passionate about. Re-consider your hobbies and passion. Maybe you are interested in books or movies? If so then you can read books or watch movies then write your reviews about those things. Or maybe you are the type of consumer who can criticize products and services. You can also write a review about the latest finds you have tried from the market. The bottom line is that there are tons of topics and niches to choose from. So basically, it all depends on you.
- Be specific. You have to focus on just one topic. Identifying your niche will greatly help in becoming the best reviewer in your chosen niche. For instance, if you've decided on reviewing products, you have to identify what specific type of product you are going to evaluate. Will it be food, clothing, appliances, gadgets, etc.?
- Buy a domain and start a blog. Of course, it is quite easy to get a free subdomain blog from WordPress and Blogspot but take note that your earning potential will be limited as well. This is especially true with a free WordPress blog. WordPress is unforgiving with bloggers who use their blogs for commercial purposes. Your account will be terminated instantly without prior notice. So might as well get a paid domain and a self-hosted blog to avoid any potential hassles.
- Set a standard guidelines and rating for your reviews. If you are to make a review about, say, data recovery services, you will need a criteria in criticizing the service. Write about its quality, price, support, turn around time, what do you like most, and what you do not like about the company under review. You will also need a specified rating system. Like 5 stars for superb service and 1 star for services that didn't pass your standards. So basically, make it in the scale of 1 to 5 stars.
- Practice your writing style. The thing about writing reviews is that you have to be as entertaining and as interesting as possible. People are interested with reviews. They want to know if the product or service is good before they make a purchase. But for them to read your reviews, your writing style should be truthful and unbiased and of course, a sense of humor and wit won't hurt.
- Don't expect to get paid right away for your reviews. For the next couple of months, it would be hard to earn money from your review website. But once you have established your credibility, consumers will begin to visit your site on a regular basis. Later on, advertisers will be sending you emails for ad space on your blog.
All things said, writing a review is a profitable business venture. It has a huge impact on the buying decision of consumers. That is why lots of companies are paying bloggers to write a positive review for their product or service. If you think you have the knack for expressing your opinion in a written format, this could be the opportunity that you have been waiting for. Premium bloggers are even receiving sample products to review.
