Top E-Mail Features For Your Business
Top E-Mail Features For Your Business
By Kathryn Lively
Many years ago I watched a commercial for a large Internet service provider that showed a younger woman explaining to her older boss how to access his e-mail. The curmudgeonly fellow seemed perplexed by the concept. "Would Shakespeare have used e-mail?" he asked aloud, receiving the answer, "He would now." It's amazing to think how far we've come in those years, with e-mail set up as one of the primary methods of communication in the office. As you begin a new job, you're assigned a new company account. On your first day of college, you may apply for a corresponding.EDU mail. Because the usage of e-mail in critical in any business, it's important that your business set up a highly functional system.
Employees will use e-mail for a variety of purposes. Yes, we send messages back and forth to clients, vendors, and co-workers. Many of us utilize e-mail to archive conversations and save specific data, while others transfer documents, videos, and other files for safekeeping. As manager or owner of a business, you rely upon a working e-mail system to keep productivity high, which is why you will want to contact your network partner about features that can enhance the way you work.
Calendars and Alerts - For workers expected to attend multiple meetings in a week, an alert feature in e-mail proves invaluable. When you come to work, the first thing you do is check e-mail. Right away you should be able to access urgent messages and alerts to appointments throughout the day. Your network partner can set you up with a functional system for proper notifications.
Whitelist and Blacklist - Occasionally you may get junk mail in your inbox, even if the office e-mail system enjoys strong security. Functionality that allows you to filter unwanted message directly to the trash can save you time in browsing messages, while a whitelist helps to ensure you don't miss out on the mail you do want.
Voice Mail to E-Mail - When you're not in the office, you can arrange to have voice mail messages sent directly to your inbox. Click on a message to hear it, or have the call converted to text. Either way, you're never out of touch.
E-mail does more for a company than send messages back and forth. With advanced features you can keep track of important dates, read local and national news through RSS, and improve connectivity with work as you travel. Talk with your network partner today about the many options available to you.
